Welcome back for part IIII and final blog of our Karuizawa Meeting coverage. We’ll focus on the current miata, the ND. A bunch of ND’s were on display in the vendor section. Let’s check them out!

 

Shop Cars

AutoExe had two demo cars which were displaying many engine bay parts. We can see the beautiful Rays 57Xtreme 17″ Wheels on there.

Shown here is their Ignition Coil Cover, Intake Suction kit and Ram Air Intake.

The Strut Tower Brace stands out in the Autoexe signature red color.

Murakami Motors brought one of their race cars. Unfortunately, no hardtop. It’s rocking some nice Rays ZE40 17″ Wheels.

RS Factory Stage had their demo car on display. It was showcasing a Front Underspoiler and Gold 15” Enkei RPF1 wheels and a Duck Tail Spoiler. A Garage Vary Vented Hood can be seen as well.

Joyfast had a soul red NDRF with a Garage Vary Front Lip Type-2 and TUCKIN99 Bottom Line Side Skirt. It’s also rocking the limited TWS (JoyFast) T-66F 16″ Wheels!

Nielex had their ND on jack stands to display their Body Reinforcement Kit under the chassis. It also has a RallyBacker Hardtop installed on there.

The Esqueleto ceramic ND stood out with their blue bucket seats and their Front Lip.

Their new trunk spoiler got unveiled at Karuizawa.

Nakamae showed up with this Crystal White ND with some interior goodies.

The Nakamae Quilted Soft Top Headliner looked great!

ARRIVE’s demo car was showcasing their new KONI Suspension.

Inside we could see some red leather goods that matched the Soul Red body color nicely.

Jet’s Integral Kobe ND had their Front Lip and some Rays CE28N 16” wheels.

Car Make Corn’s demo car was quite simple with a Mazdaspeed Front Skirt and their bucket sets in tan.

S2 Racing showing off their front bumper.

Very aggressive. I quite like it.

Last but not least, Garage Vary. This car has gotten new wheels since the last time I saw it.  However, it still has the Vented Fenders, Vented Hood, Side Skirts and Front Bumper. You can also spot a cool Saito ND Roll Cage.

The rear is just as aggressive as the front with the Rear Air Duct and Ducktail Spoiler.

 

 

Awesome ND’s

Plenty of ND’s in attendance this year. Here’s a few that I liked.

An abundance of Rays TE37 Sonics 16″ Wheels were spotted. Bronze on Jet Black is always a good choice!

Another Black ND with 16” Advan RZ wheels and AutoExe Rear Wing Spoiler.

This Crystal White ND had Mazdaspeed accents. You can also see nice 2-tone Autowear Seat Covers.

Leg Sport Ducktail Spoiler and 15” Rays Sonic wheels complete the look for this ND.

More MTE37’s! The front bra is very unusual on Nds.

This a good back shot of the AutoExe Rear Wing Spoiler and Knight Sports Rear Diffuser.

17” Advan RZ-II wheels looking proper on this ND.

Still not convinced you need TE37 Sonics on your car?

The CF Damd Front Lip and gold 16” SSR Formula Mesh wheels look amazing on this car.

RS Factory Stage Front Underspoiler and 17” Rays TE37V’s can be seen on this beauty.

Gunmetal 17” Advan RG-D2 wheels looking good.

Last one…..I promise. Beautiful Formula Silver MTE37 16×8 Wheels shown here!

Blue 17” Rays ZE40 wheels on blue ND = awesome.

Love this rear end! Knight Sports kit all around.

Nice mods on this one. Garage Vary Front Lip Type-2 and 16” TE37 Sonic wheels.

Same wheels as the previous car but with a more flush +25 offset.

Finally, lets end this section with my favorite! Knight Sports Trunk Spoiler and Leg Sport Club Sport Rear Diffuser and awesome wheels set this one apart.

 

Unique ND’s

 

17” Work Goocars Hemi’s! You can also spot the nice Integral Kobe Ducktail Spoiler, Autoexe Rear Diffuser and Autoexe Dual-Tail Exhaust.

Duck’s Garden aero kit!

Digging the color scheme. Fujimura Auto Vented Hood flows nicely with the aggressive front bumper.

That’s a KUHL Racing Swan Neck GT Wing.

Found a NDRF with more KUHL Racing aero.

Welcome back for part III of our Karuizawa Meeting coverage. We’ll focus on the 3^rd generation roadster. A few NC’s were on display in the vendor section. Let’s check them out!

 

Shop Cars

NOPRO had this super nice yellow NC3 with their Type TA Front Bumper.

It also had the NOPRO Rear Spoiler, NOPRO Rear Underspoiler, and the beautiful NOPRO GT Spec Hardtop. Such an amazing looking car!

Barchetta had this blue and orange themed NC1 with 18” Enkei RPF1 wheels.

Car Make Corn’s brought this off-road NC. This seems to be new trend in Japan.

These two were representing S2 Racing.

The owner of Jet Stream had his personal NC on display.  It has a Jet Stream Top Nose Duct, Jet Stream N-Zero Front Lip, and Jet Stream Clubman R01 Side Steps.

Interesting fact, those are R32 GTR wheels.

 

Awesome NC’s

Now the NC’s that caught my eye in attendance.

This grey NC rocking a Garage Vary NC3 Front Lip on Enkei wheels looks so good.

Another grey roadster with an aggressive front bumper and Odula Cooling Hood.

NOPRO with eyeballs :p

Stock NC with a good stance and wheels.

Garage Vary Glide Lip Spoiler looks great in white.

Garage Vary Eye Lids are a small mod but make a great improvement aesthetically.

Bronze Rays TE37’s on a white car is always a good choice.

Oh my … the Enkei RPF-1 Wheels, Garage Vary Front Spoiler and everything color combo is incredible. Classy.

I’m digging these wheels. Advan Wheels always have sweet spot in my heart.

 

Unique NC’s

These NC’s had a unique quality to them.

Aggressive NC with a cool front bumper and pandas.

Unique wheels! I quite like them. OEM Special Edition BBS.

Mismatching finishes on the wheels and the graphics set this one apart. So cool though! The Jet Stream N-Zero Front Lip & Jet Stream PRHT Ducktail Spoiler really look nice in here.

Craziest NC’s

This NC had a matte finish with so many aggressive parts! I spy some Murakami Carbon Mirrors, NOPRO PRHT Rear Spoiler and NOPRO Rear Diffuser.

Part II of our Karuizawa coverage! We’ll focus on the NB. Unfortunately, NB’s got no love in the vendor section. So, we’ll skip to the NB’s in attendance~

 

Awesome NB’s

Here’s the NB’s that stood out from the rest.

This NB was rocking the 3 piece Jetstream Front Lip.

Rays 15” Gram lights 57v look great on the NB.

Rays MTE37’s in Formula Silver make this stock NB look great.

Another stock NB with a great stance and wheel fitment.

This RS Aizawa front bumper is so awesome! Mini Viper 😊

In attendance was the RE Amemiya 13B NB. Very popular car that turned heads at the Tokyo Auto Salon a few years back.

It has a Renesis 13B motor from a RX8.

Horsepower is around 250hp

Love the mods on this one! Garage Vary Hardtop (Fastback), Jet Stream Rear Bumper Lower Diffuser, and the US Racing Sports Duck Tail Trunk.

The front of this 10AE was just as good. Custom projector fitted headlights and a Garage Vary Front Lip.

My favorite NB goes to this coupe. It has the Jet Stream Rear Diffuser, NOPRO trunk spoiler, and some nice fitted Volk Racing CE28N black wheels.

The rear Carbing Tow Hook is a nice touch.

This NB2 has the Jet Stream Clubman NB1 Front Lip, Clubman R Side Steps and Jet Stream Door Handle Covers. Yup, you read that right…it’s a NB1 front bumper with NB2 headlights. Nicely executed!

The Arrive Devil GT Wing is a popular choice in Japan.

Lastly, this yellow NB looks great on 14” TE37’s.

 

Unique NB’s

These are the NB’s that made the unique list.

What a way to start this category but with this pink NOPRO widebody NB. The NOPRO Vented Hood is the most aggressive-looking one we carry.

You are probably wondering if it was owned by a female….

I really don’t know. The owner wasn’t around. The NOPRO Wide Rear Spoiler is something else though.

A few Monocraft front conversions were spotted.

This one had Morette tails and a center exit exhaust.

A Jet Stream GT200 Kit (without front section) with a unique paint scheme.

This back NB1 had white accents. Interesting for sure. The RS Factory Stage Front Lip looks great in there.

Monocraft with flares. Pretty aggressive looking. The 16″ RS Watanabe R-Type really compliment the car very well!

This NB covered with D-technique parts was unique for sure.

Another Jet Stream with GT200 Widebody Kit spotted among the sea of cars.

 

 Craziest NB’s

This NB2 wins this category. Off road with style (Work CR01 Wheels!).

Every May I make my annual journey to Japan to attend the Karuizawa Meeting. It’s my favorite time of the year!

The Karuizawa Meeting is by far the most popular Miata meet in Japan (and maybe the world). This car meet is a good opportunity to see what new in the Miata world as many vendors come out to display the new parts they have released. This blog will go over the NA shop cars and some of the awesome, unique, and craziest NA’s in attendance.

 

NA Shop Cars

Garage Hundred One is a regular at Karuizawa. This year they brought this beautiful NA sporting their new NA Front Lip and NA Ducktail Spoiler. Love the color scheme on this car with the bronze Rays CE28N 15″ Wheels.

Look how tall their duck tail spoiler is! If you closely, you can see the corners have a unique design to them. You can also spot their NA Aero Mirror.

KenAuto brought back their blue NA with Rays TE37v 15″ Wheels. I guess they were big fans of the royal wedding. Congrats Prince Harry and Meghan Markle! You can also see the Murakami Carbon Fiber Mirrors on this car~

Barchetta made an appearance with this yellow track car on 14” bronze MTE37’s.

Nakamae had this very clean silver roadster with steelies & Runabout M2 Mirror.

Jetstream always has the coolest shop cars at Karuizawa. For the NA, they showcased one of their customers cars. Love the custom integration of the NC rear diffuser and the custom CF uprights for the Arrive Devil GT Wing. You can also spot the Brightning Tail Light Covers, the Jet Stream Hardtop Spoiler & the rear section of the Jet Stream Fender Flares.

Garage Vary had a red shop car with so many of their parts. Most notably, the new low-profile NA Duck Tail Trunk Spoiler and NA Rear Diffuser. You can also see their beautiful DIY Tail Lights as well as the NA Fastback Hardtop.

Jet’s Integral Kobe also made an appearance to showcase a few of their parts. They are known for their sporty exhaust systems. They were showcasing their new NA Clubman Replacement Muffler. You could also spot the sexy Rays TE37 Sonic 15″ Wheels!

Wondering why there’s a steering column assembly on top of the car? Jet’s has developed an Electric Power Steering System for the NA. The price tag for this puppy…..$4,000 installed!

 

Awesome NA’s

Let’s check out the NA’s spotted in the massive parking lots at Karuizawa! There were so many to choose from, but these made it to our “awesome” list.

This red and blue NA with fender mirrors. Classic. Both are rocking the 100% custom NA Front Conversion by Shinkai.

Garage Hundred One customer car. All black accessories (showcasing beautiful Jet Stream Turn Signal Intakes) except for the classic Runabout M2 Mirrors!

It has the duck tail spoiler seen earlier.

NA with S2 Racing Front Bumper in merlot fashion (rocking beautiful Rays TE37V 15″ Wheels).

These guys stood out! I personally call them the Skittles~

Another sweet merlot with Enkei Big End Rodders & beautiful S2 Racing Tail Lights. The roll cage is by Saito!

Some deep dish steelies!

MTE37’S can transform the look of any car. Check out the wide front and rear fenders.

Love the Work wheels and BRIDE seats. The Project-G Bikini Top is spot-on and the OE-Style Rear Lip completes the car very nicely.

Love the dark green pin stripe all along the OEM groove of the car. Such a clever idea! Looks beautiful.

The RS Factory Stage Trunk Spoiler gives this NA a great look.

Barchetta Front Bumper with Hayashi Street CR 15″ Wheels looks great!

Finally, these two awesome Pitcrew’s. Sorry, no front shots. The green one has Pit Crew Rear End, RS Watanabe R-Type 16″ Wheels & SO many cool parts!

 

Unique NA’s

These NA’s are unique in many ways which is not necessarily a bad thing.

^^ This one has a very unique KG Works Rear Louvers that was discontinued LONG ago and made in very small quantities. Also, spot the beautiful Jet Stream Type-1 Spoiler!

Craziest NA’s

This category speaks for itself.

Any Hello Kitty fans?

You look dashing.

Autoexe came to Karuizawa this year with two very nice demo cars. A 2015 NC3 as well as a 2016 ND Roadster. Both were fully equipped with all their accessories and looked pretty nice.

Let’s start with the NC:

The car was really neat. It had their NC Front Lip and was rolling on some very nice Rays Gram Lights 57XTREME 17” Wheels.

The engine bay was the biggest attraction for this car. It has their NC Induction Box, their NC Hood Struts, their NC Front Strut Bar as well as their NC Elbow Intake.

Now, let’s take a look at their ND:

It was rocking their ND Rear Spoiler as well as their combo of ND Rear Diffuser & ND Dual Center Exhaust. The car did not change much compared to what was shown at Tokyo Auto Salon 2016.

The engine bay was super clean, as usual. It had their ND Carbon Fiber Ram Air Intake, ND Elbow Intake, ND Strut Bar & ND Valve Cover Plate.

Their only new product they could show us during that time was their ND Brake Master Cylinder Stopper:

Nogami Project (NOPRO) has been very serious on NC tuning in the past years. They built some endurance racing cars and really focused on improving aerodynamics and power, all the time.

Their NC Endurance Racing Demo Car was featuring their NC Fender Flares, NC Front Bumper, NC Front Diffuser, NC 2 Pieces Hood, NC Eyelids and NC Dry Carbon Fiber Hardtop.

The silver car was also recently equipped with a Rotrex Supercharger combined to a 2.5L Engine Swap. It’s a wicked fast car producing over 300hp. We’ll show you the whole coverage of this car in another blog post, though.

NOPRO also brought a yellow NC Demo Car which is a street version of their silver one.

As you can see, it’s not what everyone would consider a street car, considering the massive front diffuser, but it’s still what they consider as streetable. It’s rocking the 2.0L engine combined with a Rotrex Supercharger.

This is a very short coverage of NOPRO Demo Cars at Karuizawa 2016 Meeting, but I promise I’ll have a much better one soon as I visited their shop and took TONS of pictures.

Garage Hundred One has always been showing some pretty eccentric vehicles at Karuizawa Meetings. This year is no different than the others, they really showed a special concept!

The car is actually their mechanic’s personal car. He built it so it’s very efficient on gas and also easy to drive in the city and mountains/tarmac. It’s featuring a very unique front end with turn signals relocated into the front bumper.

It has some Rays CE28N Wheels in 15” and some very tall tires. The ride height was more 4×4 than what we’re usually seeing, but it was very nice to see, too. The car had a purpose and he made no compromise (except maybe on looks) so the car would perform to its tasks. You can also spot some REV9 1028 Mirrors installed on this car.

To make the car even more unique, the owner took Garage Vary Fastback Hardtop and created a divided rear window (inspired by what we see on old school Corvettes).

ACRE Brakes is gaining popularity in Japan and showing everyone that a small company can compete with the big players in term of price and quality. They build an awesome ND Demo Car with their own parts and Garage Vary aerodynamics.

The car has the Garage Vary Vented Hood as well as the Garage Vary Type-2 Front Lip installed.

We can see that they also have their ND Brembo Big Brake Kit installed. This kit is made using Ferrari F360 Brembo Brakes for maximum power.

They also have a ND Garage Vary Carbon Fiber Trunk, combined with the Garage Vary Rear Spoiler and Garage Vary Rear Diffuser.

There are many parts that I did not have the chance to take a picture including their Enkei RSM9 Wheels as well as their Oval Tip Fujitsubo Authorize R Exhaust (exclusive to them).

Here’s the coverage of S2-Racing NC3 Demo Car at Karuizawa 2016. They previously had a NC1 Demo Car shown at previous Karuizawa Meeting, but it was not as classy as this new one.

The car is rocking their new NC Front Bumper that is based on the looks of the new Jaguar F-Type Sports Car. It’s a really nice fit to the NC3 Front End and gives it a nice racing and classy look.

The car was really lovely with the Pearl White & Red Accents (as well as Red Soft Top)!

The interior was pretty cool looking with the retrofitted ND OEM Seats and JoyFast Original Shift Knob!

Here is the latest NC Demo Car by Car Make Corn’s. It’s pretty nice that I’ve been able to see this car before and after. They completed the whole car in less than 1 week, it was hard work! Here’s a picture of what it looked like when I visited their shop :

And here is the result at Karuizawa Meeting :

The car is actually a NC1 rocking the RS Factory Stage NC1 to NC2/NC3 Conversion Kit. It is really clean and had some beautiful red touches on the lip.

It was running their Prototype Car Make Corn’s CMC 16×8 Wheels in 5×114.3 (NC fitment) and some universal Fender Trims. They also had their Car Make Corn’s Single Tip Exhaust installed in there.

It also had a really nice interior featuring a Saito Roll Cage, Prototype Car Make Corn’s Leather Seats, Car Make Corn’s Shift Knob & MOMO Steering Wheel.

It was one really beautiful result for the short period they had to build this car. It’s a pretty simple car, but also really nice looking.
