Delays on Jet Stream Orders

Hey everyone, we know many of you ordered some Jet Stream products in the past few months from us. As usual, if there is longer-than-usual wait time, we inform customers about it. Most customers got their products shipped on time, but 2 recent (exceptional) events may have slowed down the process on a few orders.

We contacted many of you earlier this month to inform you of delays on your order. Unfortunately, all orders who didn’t ship yet will be delayed an additional 10 days on top of our first estimate due to second incident that happened.

Event 1 : Owner’s car accident

On November 21st, Jet Stream owner got involved in a bad car crash. He had to get some screws in his spine, stitching and needs to stop working for 3 months. He is helping with work schedule, but cannot work on the products by himself to speed up the process.

Event 2 : Son is hospitalized

On December 20th, heavy stress and being overworked led the son’s owner to get bronchial virus and needs to be hospitalized and have an operation. Now the production is stopped for 10 days so he can recover fully.

What you need to know

Jet Stream is a very small family owned company. They are only 2 employees (owner and son) and sometimes have helpers for small tasks. They keep the company small to ensure providing with the best quality parts with fitment up to par with the best manufacturers in the industry. They really take pride in their work and would not want to compromise quality by hiring unskilled workers. We hope you understand that these items are limited and high quality and that they want to ensure that even though production is slowed down, every customer will get a perfect fitting product.

We really would like to apologize for this although it’s exceptional, out-of-our-control events. We hope it won’t affect your builds and we look forward sending you the awesome products made by Jet Stream.

The Road(Ster) Trip – Atlanta Meet

Our Atlanta meet was a bit of a mess. Date and location changed a few times, and it was super last-minute, so I didn’t expect many people to show up. It still was a very fun and great to meet some customers in person!

The parking was also a bit sketchy (anyone that was low scraped)… but the turnout was still pretty cool!

This ND was pretty slick with some Rays 57Transcend 17” Wheels, Silk Blaze Front Bumper Duct Covers and beautiful Leg Sport Ducktail Spoiler!

This Mazdaspeed NB was rocking one of our Garage Vary Carbon Fiber Hood, so cool looking!

A NA came… it sounded pretty mean… and it was!

We also had another ND with Brembo/BBS package in Ceramic Metallic!

NB with truck bedliner paint anyone? That thing is permanent.

And a cool trio of NAs!

My ND was still intact from the intense driving at Tail Of The Dragon! If you look closely, you can see that I put some Aeroguard-II under my front lip… those are A MUST for any car that is lowered.

At the end of the meeting, an EG Civic drove by with a pretty non-street-legal drag setup and asked if we were doing that REV9 meeting. I asked him if he had a Miata, he said no, but said he had some of my parts on his car… this got me a little bit confused. Then, I saw that he was rocking the REV9 (ebay) intercoolers which are NOT our products… still, funny to see that in our meet!

Hope you enjoyed this quick blog post!

The Road(Ster) Trip – VA Beach & Charleston

I am doing another double post for the REV9 Meetings that were held in Virginia Beach, VA and Charleston, SC. I know that the timeframe does not work well because there was technically the Deal’s Gap & Atlanta meeting in between, but since the Charleston Meeting was so small, I figured out I would add it to this post.

Let’s start with the first meeting;

Virginia Beach

After driving many hours from Philadelphia, I finally arrived to Virginia Beach. This city is definitely one of my favorite, people are super nice, weather is also pretty much perfect. The meeting was held at Commonwealth Brewing, a very new and modern brewery not too far from Virginia Beach’s city center.

When I arrived, there were already a lot of people attending the event. The turnout was much better than I anticipated, mostly because 757 Miatas shared the event in their group, I guess!

I believe we were over 20+ people who attended this event :

There were many cool cars;

A NC1 with very nice ride height:

A NC3 with over 400 WHP running Enkei PF01 17” Wheels:

A NB with pretty unique theme;

A NA with Maine (state) plate that had a little something under the hoodl…

Some gangster NAs;

And I even had someone who did the same exact thing as me and switched from ND Soft Top to ND RF;

Even GTRs & Bimmer showed up at the meeting…

It was also the first time someone asked me to sign his valve cover… I’m pretty proud of it! Another guy even asked me to sign his REV9 cap!

And the owner of the said valve cover enjoyed posing next to my demo car!

It was fun meeting so many friendly people, I had a blast! I even received a custom T-Shirt with REV9 & 757 Miatas, that really made my day! Funny thing, to do the group picture, we had to block a street and it took just 5 minutes for the cops to notice… fun times!

You can see rest of VA Beach Meeting Photos by clicking this link : REV9 Virginia Beach Meeting Photos (not ready yet).

And now the small feature of the next meeting. I’m skipping REV9 Deal’s Gap Meet because it is very picture intensive and will be on a single post.

Here is the second feature;

Charleston

This meeting was kind of odd. It somehow got shared on a Subaru & Scion facebook group and we were outnumbered by those guys… haha! The location was Frothy Beard Brewery and they were doing a trivia night at the same time as our meeting… the place was packed!

Also, it kept on raining, so I did not expect much to be honest.

We managed to bring a group of 5 people, and as bad as I am, I forgot to bring a SD cars for my SLR Camera, so I only have this pitiful photo from a phone:

It was fun nonetheless, and I met cool people and enjoyed some great beers with them!

The same night, I went with my friend from Ciotti Industries (@ciottimonkey) for some light painting… result was pretty awesome!

The Road(Ster) Trip – NYC & Philadelphia

I’d like to apologize for the time it takes me to create the blog posts. With all the travelling and great people I met, I tried to take some time for myself. I’m doing this blog post related to the 2 meetings that I did in both New York City, NY and Philadelphia, PA.

I also noticed it took me hours to make those blog posts every time, so, in the future, I’ll show the highlights, showcase customers and post rest of the pictures I took on a facebook photo album!

Let’s start with the first one;

New York City

The meeting was organized in coordination with my friend Jameson which is a long-time customer and I never had the chance to meet in person. The meeting was held in beautiful Astoria Park in the Bronx. The location was just outside of Manhattan island with beautiful view of bridges;

The meeting was held on a Thursday night and I’m proud to say it is the most popular REV9 Meet ever organized!

People kept on coming, to a point where parking was a big issue!

At one point, we even parked the cars on the bicycle lane… because Miata > Bicycles.

Here are some cars worth mentioning (I wish I could do it for all of them, but my time is limited…)

The lonewolf (I am not sure if he was part of the meet or just was here at the same time… he did not stay very long)

A true Japanese culture fan:

Some fearless people with static suspensions (it’s New York roads afterall)…

A beautifully modded ND with red Rays MTE37 16” Wheels, Garage Vary Type-2 Front Lip, Bride Low Max Seats, DAMD Suede Steering Wheel and many more mods…!

Jonathan’s Ceramic Metallic ND with 1993LE Red Nakamae Sports Seat Covers! So classy.

A NB with a really nice paint job… that color was perfect on there!

Kevin’s NA with beautiful Jet Stream Original Headlights, Garage Vary Front Lip & Enkei RPF1 14”!

Jameson’s NA with REV9 OE-Style Fender Flares, Enkei RPF1 14” Wheels and lots of other goodies (yes, there was a cone on the top)!

This NA just had so many stuff on it that I have to showcase it;

I also saw (very late) a very good customer’s interior that was built over a long time with a lot of very rare parts sourced at REV9 (sorry for bad pictures)! The car was pristine, with a fresh paint job! It’s pretty sad I don’t have any good picture of it.

And, of course, the REV9 Demo Car with Advan RZ 17” Wheels, Rallybacker Low Ducktail Spoiler & TK Style Carbon Front Lip.

The meeting finished up pretty late. I am glad SO MANY people showed up, it was such a fun event!

You can see rest of NYC Meeting Photos by clicking this link : REV9 NYC Meeting Photos. (coming soon)

I also did a photoshoot of my car in beautiful New York City, you can see it here : ND RF Project Classy.

Now, let’s check the 2nd meet that was held just a few days later. It was much smaller too, but the place was awesome for pictures!

Philadelphia

I arrived early, so did a little photoshoot of my car…

The meeting was held at Evil Genius Brewing and their location as well as beers were pretty awesome.

We’ve had about ~10 person to attend the meeting and it was really fun!

A red & slammed NA arrived at one point and it was VERY loud… when the owner showed me the 13B engine in the engine bay, I was amazed. It’s probably the neatest setup I ever had the chance to see… it took him 3 years to get the car to this point:

He came accompanied by another very neat car….

Perfect couple, isn’t it?

At last, someone arrived almost when everyone was gone, he drove a few hours to meet us, and his car was pristine. The color is not mariner blue, it’s a variation of it. And the interior was black before being changed for tan… it was a really beautiful piece!

You can see rest of Philly Meeting Photos by clicking this link : REV9 Philadelphia Meeting Photos. (coming soon)

I hope you enjoyed this double blog post! I did it very quickly as I’m trying to catch up with the meetings that were held in Virginia Beach, Deal’s Gap, Atlanta & Charleston. I also need to prepare for the upcoming meeting in Miami and Tampa Bay! I also want to say that I am sorry I cannot showcase every single car on my blog posts, but if you came to the meeting, I hope you’ll see yourself in the photo album!

REV9 Autosport ND RF Demo Car (Project Classy)

When they unveiled the ND RF, my first saying was “oh man, why did I buy the soft top”… and the more I saw them, the more envious I was about that car. Mazda literally marketed the car as more of a refined  ND (for city driving?) rather than the open top sports car. That photoshoot from Mazda just made me want one so bad…

(Credit : Mazda Corporation of USA)

So, a few weeks ago, I decided to pull the trigger on a brand new 2017 ND RF and give back my ND Soft Top to the dealership. It was a pretty good decision if you ask me… and I’m proud to be able to unveil the car on my blog, with photos taken at the (almost?) same spot as Mazda did about a year ago!

I called this demo car The Project Classy, because it made so much sense. The color is beautiful and really makes the car look “high class”.  I’ve had the car just for 2 weeks, but I’ve made it up to my taste already and only a few mods will be done to it in the future. The goal is to make one perfect street car that almost looks like it came that way from factory.

Here is what I installed so far:

Rallybacker Low Type Ducktail Spoiler

This is probably my favorite mild-wild ducktail spoiler for ND. When Rallybacker released it, I knew this one was the one I would run on my ND. It looks great on both the Soft Top and RF! It’s so neat looking that most people who don’t know much about the ND think it’s a factory option.

Odula Carbon Fiber Rear Diffuser

This is also a mild-wild modification. Everyone notices it, as it really gives the car one aggressive look to the rear end.

Integral Kobe N1 Spec Exhaust Type-US

This exhaust is not legal in Japan. It’s because it is *just* a little louder than what is allowed (and they reduce the allowed level every few years). It is literally the best sounding exhaust I ever saw for the ND and couldn’t be more pleased. It is silent on highway and when you open the throttle, it unleashes the awesome sound you’re looking for. The tip also has a very unique look which I like more and more. One (also) neat feature is the engraved Jet’s logo!

TK Style Carbon Fiber Front Lip

This is pretty  much the only front lip that I can run without bottoming up every 5 minute at my current ride height. I also love the fact that the carbon fiber merges so well with the Machine Grey paint color. It follows the lines of the car so well, it almost looks like it’s an OEM option! TK Style is not a replica, it’s the name of the company based in Japan…

So this was the first photoshoot & blog post of the new ND Classy Project Car. I hope you enjoyed… as I can’t stop staring at these J. I also just remembered that I forgot to post the ‘’before’’ pictures… another blog post will follow! I’ll also do another blog post for the interior as there are way too many pictures already! If you are in the USA and want to see it in person, follow my USA Road(Ster) Trip, maybe we’ll meet!

The Road(Ster) Trip – Garage Quinn Motors (GQM)

This is the second part of my Road(Ster) Trip which is happening in Connecticut. Now, this is a special feature I’m doing on Garage Quinn Motors (GQM) as it really deserves it! We could also call this place :

-Fantasy Land

-Land of 1990 Dreams

-Awesometown

-Etc.

My car felt like a stranger in there, but with so many Mazdas around it, it quickly was happy to be there:

The place is just insane, with lots of cool parts hanging around:

But the parts are not what’s important in here… IT’S THE CARS!!!

Here is the GQM NB IRTB pushing around 185whp with cool parts on it like Garage Vary Front Lip, Garage Vary Carbon Canards, Garage Vary Tail Lights, Advan RG-II Wheels, Mazdaspeed Rear Lip:

He also has a turbo NA pushing 254whp… just for fun~

Car is beautiful with Work Equip 15” Wheels, Garage Vary Front Lip, Garage Vary Nostalgic Tail Lights, KG Works Ducktail Spoiler, ZOOM Carbon MirrorsNardi 330MM Steering Wheel and A LOT of custom interior work!

He also had some non-Roadster cars worth mentioning…

Not Quinn’s, but a friend’s…

He has such beautiful cars, it was like being in a modern 90’s tuner museum! Hope you enjoyed this blog post! For those wondering, the ND demo car now has TK Style Carbon Front Lip, Beatrush Tow Hook & Advan RZ 17×8 Wheels installed.

We also got the chance to test drive my demo car on his “personal track”… it was one hell of a thrill. You can see preview of what’s to come on Garage Quinn Motor’s Youtube Channel:

The Road(Ster) Trip – Connecticut

This is the first blog post on my epic trip throughout USA. This is a lifetime dream I’m doing right now to travel the whole USA & parts of Canada! My first stop was in Southington, Connecticut. Many asked me why I stopped at this place and not somewhere else… the main reason is that I got to meet the legendary Quinn Kizis from Garage Quinn Motors.

The meeting was held at Witchdoctor Brewing Company in the back parking lot. It was actually a great turnout, bigger than some meets I did in the past and I got to meet some of my long time customers!

It was my first official reveal of the ND Classy Demo Car (blog post to come). It seemed to impress most people who were not sure if they liked the RF or not… it seems they now do!

I’m going to skip the interior shots because I keep this for another blog post, but the car did look great during this meeting. I have the TK Style Front Lip, Advan RZ 17×8 Wheels & Beatrush Front Tow Hook already installed! The Rallybacker Low Ducktail Spoiler is also a great addition…

Unfortunately, I managed to ding the hood in the first 1500 miles of the car… that’s what happens when you speed on the highway!

We had a lot of nice & cool roadsters & non-roadsters who showed up:

Here they are:

A clean silver NA with roll bar:

A weird red N#???

The whole condiment set:

A NB that had a mixed opinion front lip:

GQM’s IRTB NB with beautiful Advan RG-II 16×8 Wheels, Garage Vary Front Lip & Garage Vary Front Canards:

The engine bay is just perfect and so clean…

The interior was not neglected either, it’s pretty much one of the most perfect NB’s interior I ever had the chance to see with custom Lotus seats!

This NA owner drove all the way from Rhode Island (3 hours) to meet us!!! Glad he made it to the meet!

Some other beautiful specimens of Roaster:

The meeting was short but I was so glad to meet a bunch of enthusiasts who drove just to meet with us! It was great!

The next day, Quinn showed me what Garage Quinn Motors is all about… I’m going to make an additional blog post about it because the garage is WAY too intense to fit in this blog post. Stay tuned, we’re doing meetings ALL OVER the USA and you can see the whole list of places we’re going here as well as on our REV9 Facebook page. Join our Road(Ster) Trip Facebook Group if you want to be informed in real time about what’s happening during our USA trip!

New aerodynamics and muffler for the ND Shop Car & Byebye

I always enjoyed seeing cars with nice front lips. With my current ride height, I needed to make sure I had a front lip that would allow me some clearance and was looking for a clean look.

I opted for a new front lip that just got released not long ago, the TK Style Carbon Fiber ND Front Lip. It installs over the OEM front diffusers and just required a bit of drilling at hidden bumper spots to fit. You can install it within 30 minutes and it looks amazing :

Many people think it’s the Mazdaspeed ND Front Lip, but it’s got a different shape and lays flat with a slight raise in the middle to provide with more clearance.

It completes the look of the front end pretty nicely.

And, as you can see, it follows the shape of the front bumper, too!

I also decided to install the Odula Carbon Fiber ND Rear Diffuser as I wanted a more aggressive look for the rear end of the vehicle.

This piece took about 10 minutes to install, it only requires drilling at 6 different points:

It’s pretty hard to take good pictures of it, due to the high contrast of the Ceramic Metallic light color.

Lastly, I installed a muffler from my friend at Integral Kobe : the Integral Kobe Type-US ND Exhaust. This is called Type-US because it’s aimed for the overseas market since it’s not legal in Japan (sound level). It’s not overly loud, and in my opinion, it’s just perfect.

Look at the quality of the product :

It has a very unusual angled tip but looks pretty cool once installed with the laser cut logo:

I do not have a sound clip yet, because when we tried to do it, we hit a nail on the road and got a flat tire. Now, we will be able to do a sound clip about it very soon, but we have to warn you, it sounds extremely good. A full review of the muffler will be done soon!

It was sad to do, but the ND Soft Top is now back to stock and for sale at our local dealership.

Here is one last picture in all its glory:

This will be the last blog post about our Soft Top ND Demo Car (Project Clubman) because the car is now retired (back to Mazda dealership) and we now are working on our new ND RF Project Car (Project Classy). More updates coming soon!

Our 2017 USA & Canada Miata Road(Ster) Trip

For a long time, I dreamed about “doing the USA” by car. This year was REV9’s 10th Anniversary and I thought it would be the perfect opportunity to live a life long dream and meet with customers and enthusiasts!

Last year, I did a Road(Ster) Trip and went all the way from Quebec to Texas (Houston & Austin) and drove back home. I made many friends and had lots of fun.

This year, I’m planning to travel across most of the USA (except some states as I cannot be everywhere, unfortunately) and come back by Canada!

I’ve created a facebook group called Road(Ster) Trip – North America that I suggest you to join if you’re from USA or Canada so you can get access to information about meetings before others~

Hope to see you during my trip!

Cheers!

Wow! It’s been 10 years.

For almost a year I’ve been planning REV9 Autosport’s 10th Anniversary. I wish I had crazy, exciting stuff to show for it, or big events in the works, but nothing’s gone as planned lately. I feel like this sounds negative, but it’s not at all. I couldn’t be happier with where the company and my life are at.

Let’s delve into a small history lesson…

REV9 Autosport started in mid-March 2007, so, it has now been 10 years! It all began when I started driving my father’s 1991 BRG NA Miata. He bought it brand new, and 16 years later it was my first car.

I’ve had a real passion for sport cars since I was a kid and, for me, it was pretty realistic to think I could build something great with the Miata platform. I was addicted to all those Sport Compact Car magazines and such and hoped I could make a nice tuned version of the Miata—something Fast and Furious style. I then discovered a forum dedicated to JDM-only modified Miatas and fell in love with the quality, simplicity, integrity and dedication of the members of that forum. I just had a really hard time buying parts for my car. It seemed like a big hassle every time.

That’s when I decided I would start my business.

REV9’s mission was very simple: bring the highest quality parts for the Miata from Japan and make the buying process seamless and hassle-free for the buyer.

I started by building a nice website where people could simply browse products, see prices (except for shipping), click ‘’Buy’’ and it would send me an email with information so I could tell them about shipping charges. When they agreed, I would send them a PayPal Request and we’d have a sale!

Needless to say, it was a nightmare to handle. I became a victim of my success and soon had to create a transactional website.

The first transactional website was pretty simple—same concept as the previous one, except people could actually pay for their items right away (except for the shipping quote again), and then I would contact them for the quote which they either agreed to or refused and got refunded.

Once again, I became overwhelmed with all the requests and had to step-up the game.

That’s when I created my very first 100% transactional website, in 2009. I launched it on 31st of December and had the first 100% automated sale on the very first day. The next seven years or so passed in a blur. I built a 1993LE NA Demo Car, a 1999 NB Demo Car and just recently got my very first brand new car, the 2016 ND Demo Car.

Alright, enough of the history lesson.

Over the years, we’ve always aimed to provide the most exclusive, rare and high quality parts to our customers. We’ve always had strong convictions against selling anything that is a copy or counterfeit and have been committed to innovation and hardworking companies. We’re proud to say that we stand behind our products 100% and, unlike many other vendors, we don’t sell copy/fake items to make a quick buck. We actually really enjoy seeing quality builds and are always thrilled to receive pictures from our customers showing the products they bought from us.

In the past year I’ve had so many curve balls, it’s been really hard on the company. We saw a lot of new customers with the ND Roadster launch, which is great, but it placed too much pressure on our most important employee and she had to be hospitalized. This made me realize that I needed a more solid system to handle the  (much) bigger company than it was before. It took a few months to get it right, but I am now happy to say that the whole shipping department is now running smoother than ever and can virtually handle virtually any volume of shipments. During our hospitalized employee’s down time, we hired someone to help who turned out not to be the most competent. It made the experience of buying from our store much less awesome than it’s was supposed to be. That’s why we sent a personal apology letter to almost a thousand people to tell them it was not how an order at REV9 should be.

As I said earlier, I was planning big things for REV9’s 10th Anniversary, but life happened. I was actually planning on doing a REV9 World Tour and building a demo car for every continent that we sell parts to. Let’s just say that many factors made this project impossible.

However, I am happy to announce that there will be a REV9 USA/Canada Tour that will bring meetings/shows from East Coast to West Coast during Summer 2017. I’ve created a Facebook Group for those who want regular updates. I’m super excited about it and busy with the planning. Our demo car will also be much nicer than it was in 2016, and we’re constantly adding parts for the NA, NB, NC & ND to make sure our customers can continue building their dream car.

We’re proud to say that we have awesome customers from 60 countries, over 20 000 fans on Facebook and almost 25 000 followers on Instagram. We’re always encouraged by the great feedback we get from you.

From the bottom of my heart, I would like to say that I feel like the luckiest man on earth to be able to help other people share my passion and inspire them the best I can. Many people think that the scene is dead, but they couldn’t be more wrong. Our customers show us every day that the bar for quality, original and awesome builds just keeps getting higher.
