The Road(Ster) Trip – NYC & Philadelphia

I’d like to apologize for the time it takes me to create the blog posts. With all the travelling and great people I met, I tried to take some time for myself. I’m doing this blog post related to the 2 meetings that I did in both New York City, NY and Philadelphia, PA.

I also noticed it took me hours to make those blog posts every time, so, in the future, I’ll show the highlights, showcase customers and post rest of the pictures I took on a facebook photo album!

Let’s start with the first one;

New York City

The meeting was organized in coordination with my friend Jameson which is a long-time customer and I never had the chance to meet in person. The meeting was held in beautiful Astoria Park in the Bronx. The location was just outside of Manhattan island with beautiful view of bridges;

The meeting was held on a Thursday night and I’m proud to say it is the most popular REV9 Meet ever organized!

People kept on coming, to a point where parking was a big issue!

At one point, we even parked the cars on the bicycle lane… because Miata > Bicycles.

Here are some cars worth mentioning (I wish I could do it for all of them, but my time is limited…)

The lonewolf (I am not sure if he was part of the meet or just was here at the same time… he did not stay very long)

A true Japanese culture fan:

Some fearless people with static suspensions (it’s New York roads afterall)…

A beautifully modded ND with red Rays MTE37 16” Wheels, Garage Vary Type-2 Front Lip, Bride Low Max Seats, DAMD Suede Steering Wheel and many more mods…!

Jonathan’s Ceramic Metallic ND with 1993LE Red Nakamae Sports Seat Covers! So classy.

A NB with a really nice paint job… that color was perfect on there!

Kevin’s NA with beautiful Jet Stream Original Headlights, Garage Vary Front Lip & Enkei RPF1 14”!

Jameson’s NA with REV9 OE-Style Fender Flares, Enkei RPF1 14” Wheels and lots of other goodies (yes, there was a cone on the top)!

This NA just had so many stuff on it that I have to showcase it;

I also saw (very late) a very good customer’s interior that was built over a long time with a lot of very rare parts sourced at REV9 (sorry for bad pictures)! The car was pristine, with a fresh paint job! It’s pretty sad I don’t have any good picture of it.

And, of course, the REV9 Demo Car with Advan RZ 17” Wheels, Rallybacker Low Ducktail Spoiler & TK Style Carbon Front Lip.

The meeting finished up pretty late. I am glad SO MANY people showed up, it was such a fun event!

I also did a photoshoot of my car in beautiful New York City, you can see it here : ND RF Project Classy.

Now, let’s check the 2nd meet that was held just a few days later. It was much smaller too, but the place was awesome for pictures!

Philadelphia

I arrived early, so did a little photoshoot of my car…

The meeting was held at Evil Genius Brewing and their location as well as beers were pretty awesome.

We’ve had about ~10 person to attend the meeting and it was really fun!

A red & slammed NA arrived at one point and it was VERY loud… when the owner showed me the 13B engine in the engine bay, I was amazed. It’s probably the neatest setup I ever had the chance to see… it took him 3 years to get the car to this point:

He came accompanied by another very neat car….

Perfect couple, isn’t it?

At last, someone arrived almost when everyone was gone, he drove a few hours to meet us, and his car was pristine. The color is not mariner blue, it’s a variation of it. And the interior was black before being changed for tan… it was a really beautiful piece!

I hope you enjoyed this double blog post! I did it very quickly as I’m trying to catch up with the meetings that were held in Virginia Beach, Deal’s Gap, Atlanta & Charleston. I also need to prepare for the upcoming meeting in Miami and Tampa Bay! I also want to say that I am sorry I cannot showcase every single car on my blog posts, but if you came to the meeting, I hope you’ll see yourself in the photo album!

REV9 Autosport ND RF Demo Car (Project Classy)

When they unveiled the ND RF, my first saying was “oh man, why did I buy the soft top”… and the more I saw them, the more envious I was about that car. Mazda literally marketed the car as more of a refined  ND (for city driving?) rather than the open top sports car. That photoshoot from Mazda just made me want one so bad…

(Credit : Mazda Corporation of USA)

So, a few weeks ago, I decided to pull the trigger on a brand new 2017 ND RF and give back my ND Soft Top to the dealership. It was a pretty good decision if you ask me… and I’m proud to be able to unveil the car on my blog, with photos taken at the (almost?) same spot as Mazda did about a year ago!

I called this demo car The Project Classy, because it made so much sense. The color is beautiful and really makes the car look “high class”.  I’ve had the car just for 2 weeks, but I’ve made it up to my taste already and only a few mods will be done to it in the future. The goal is to make one perfect street car that almost looks like it came that way from factory.

Here is what I installed so far:

Rallybacker Low Type Ducktail Spoiler

This is probably my favorite mild-wild ducktail spoiler for ND. When Rallybacker released it, I knew this one was the one I would run on my ND. It looks great on both the Soft Top and RF! It’s so neat looking that most people who don’t know much about the ND think it’s a factory option.

Odula Carbon Fiber Rear Diffuser

This is also a mild-wild modification. Everyone notices it, as it really gives the car one aggressive look to the rear end.

Integral Kobe N1 Spec Exhaust Type-US

This exhaust is not legal in Japan. It’s because it is *just* a little louder than what is allowed (and they reduce the allowed level every few years). It is literally the best sounding exhaust I ever saw for the ND and couldn’t be more pleased. It is silent on highway and when you open the throttle, it unleashes the awesome sound you’re looking for. The tip also has a very unique look which I like more and more. One (also) neat feature is the engraved Jet’s logo!

TK Style Carbon Fiber Front Lip

This is pretty  much the only front lip that I can run without bottoming up every 5 minute at my current ride height. I also love the fact that the carbon fiber merges so well with the Machine Grey paint color. It follows the lines of the car so well, it almost looks like it’s an OEM option! TK Style is not a replica, it’s the name of the company based in Japan…

So this was the first photoshoot & blog post of the new ND Classy Project Car. I hope you enjoyed… as I can’t stop staring at these J. I also just remembered that I forgot to post the ‘’before’’ pictures… another blog post will follow! I’ll also do another blog post for the interior as there are way too many pictures already! If you are in the USA and want to see it in person, follow my USA Road(Ster) Trip, maybe we’ll meet!

The Road(Ster) Trip – Garage Quinn Motors (GQM)

This is the second part of my Road(Ster) Trip which is happening in Connecticut. Now, this is a special feature I’m doing on Garage Quinn Motors (GQM) as it really deserves it! We could also call this place :

-Fantasy Land

-Land of 1990 Dreams

-Awesometown

-Etc.

My car felt like a stranger in there, but with so many Mazdas around it, it quickly was happy to be there:

The place is just insane, with lots of cool parts hanging around:

But the parts are not what’s important in here… IT’S THE CARS!!!

Here is the GQM NB IRTB pushing around 185whp with cool parts on it like Garage Vary Front Lip, Garage Vary Carbon Canards, Garage Vary Tail Lights, Advan RG-II Wheels, Mazdaspeed Rear Lip:

He also has a turbo NA pushing 254whp… just for fun~

Car is beautiful with Work Equip 15” Wheels, Garage Vary Front Lip, Garage Vary Nostalgic Tail Lights, KG Works Ducktail Spoiler, ZOOM Carbon MirrorsNardi 330MM Steering Wheel and A LOT of custom interior work!

He also had some non-Roadster cars worth mentioning…

Not Quinn’s, but a friend’s…

He has such beautiful cars, it was like being in a modern 90’s tuner museum! Hope you enjoyed this blog post! For those wondering, the ND demo car now has TK Style Carbon Front Lip, Beatrush Tow Hook & Advan RZ 17×8 Wheels installed.

We also got the chance to test drive my demo car on his “personal track”… it was one hell of a thrill. You can see preview of what’s to come on Garage Quinn Motor’s Youtube Channel:

The Road(Ster) Trip – Connecticut

This is the first blog post on my epic trip throughout USA. This is a lifetime dream I’m doing right now to travel the whole USA & parts of Canada! My first stop was in Southington, Connecticut. Many asked me why I stopped at this place and not somewhere else… the main reason is that I got to meet the legendary Quinn Kizis from Garage Quinn Motors.

The meeting was held at Witchdoctor Brewing Company in the back parking lot. It was actually a great turnout, bigger than some meets I did in the past and I got to meet some of my long time customers!

It was my first official reveal of the ND Classy Demo Car (blog post to come). It seemed to impress most people who were not sure if they liked the RF or not… it seems they now do!

I’m going to skip the interior shots because I keep this for another blog post, but the car did look great during this meeting. I have the TK Style Front Lip, Advan RZ 17×8 Wheels & Beatrush Front Tow Hook already installed! The Rallybacker Low Ducktail Spoiler is also a great addition…

Unfortunately, I managed to ding the hood in the first 1500 miles of the car… that’s what happens when you speed on the highway!

We had a lot of nice & cool roadsters & non-roadsters who showed up:

Here they are:

A clean silver NA with roll bar:

A weird red N#???

The whole condiment set:

A NB that had a mixed opinion front lip:

GQM’s IRTB NB with beautiful Advan RG-II 16×8 Wheels, Garage Vary Front Lip & Garage Vary Front Canards:

The engine bay is just perfect and so clean…

The interior was not neglected either, it’s pretty much one of the most perfect NB’s interior I ever had the chance to see with custom Lotus seats!

This NA owner drove all the way from Rhode Island (3 hours) to meet us!!! Glad he made it to the meet!

Some other beautiful specimens of Roaster:

The meeting was short but I was so glad to meet a bunch of enthusiasts who drove just to meet with us! It was great!

The next day, Quinn showed me what Garage Quinn Motors is all about… I’m going to make an additional blog post about it because the garage is WAY too intense to fit in this blog post. Stay tuned, we’re doing meetings ALL OVER the USA and you can see the whole list of places we’re going here as well as on our REV9 Facebook page. Join our Road(Ster) Trip Facebook Group if you want to be informed in real time about what’s happening during our USA trip!
