Fujimura Auto ND MX-5 Shop Car at TAS2016

Fujimura Auto has been tuning vehicles for a while. They want their vehicles to stand out from the crowd and they really did an awesome job at doing that with their ND Demo Car!

Their shop car was showing their ND Original Front Bumper with Carbon Fiber Lips, but most importantly, their ND Rotrex Supercharger Kit!

They also had their ND Side Steps in beautiful Carbon Fiber installed on their car. The beautiful Rays ZE40 17” Wheels really complimented the car as well!

fujimura_3 fujimura_4

They ran some racing seats that used their ND Harness Mounting Points for running racing harnesses with super easy installation process.

The car also was running their new ND Titanium Exit Dual Sound Muffler as well as their ND Rear Diffuser in Carbon Fiber finish (sorry for the bad pictures, but it was a tight spot)!

Ducks Garden ND MX-5 Shop Car at TAS2016

Ducks Garden is a tuner from Japan that does not care about conventions. He thinks of a design and just does it, from his dreams. His ND Miata is a proof that you can be really unique, if you want to!

ducks1

This year, they had 2 demo cars at Tokyo Auto Salon, a Bright Yellow one and a Black one! As you can see, both were rocking full body kit featuring their ND Rear Bumper as well as their ND Rear Spoiler!

ducks2 ducks3 ducks4 ducks5

It was also featuring their very unique ND Side Steps two tone paint as well as some (low quality) 17” Wheels!

ducks6

They were really proud of their super aggressive (and different looking) ND Front Bumper that has black Carbon Fiber pieces under the headlights to give them a different look from far:

ducks7 ducks8

The black shop car was also featuring some pretty cool Endless Big Brake Kit with blue calipers!

ducks9

Lastly, the yellow shop car was featuring their ND Aluminum Pedal Kit that is available for both Manual and Automatic transmissions ND MX5s.

Kansai Service ND Miata Shop Car at TAS2016

Kansai Service is also known as HKS Kansai but uses this name since just a few years. They are pretty much one of the biggest HKS dealers in Japan and produce their very own parts for platforms that they like to work on. We’re happy to see that they built a pretty cool ND Demo Car!

kansai1

Their shop car had their ND Front Diffusers & ND Front Tow Hook which looks a lot like the OEM ones, but the shape and size is slightly different and finish is beautiful.

kansai_2_1 kansai2 kansai3

It was also featuring their very near ND Side Steps in Carbon Fiber as well as some beautiful Advan RS-II 17” Wheels!

kansai4 kansai5

As usual, their aero parts are very subtle and clean, so was their ND Rear Spoiler as well as their ND Rear Flap!

kansai6 kansai7 kansai8 kansai9

The modifications were really subtle and hard to notice, but they also are a proof that you don’t need to always have extreme looking parts to look nice.

RK Design ND MX-5 Demo Car at TAS2016

RK Design is a tuner out of the ordinary. They really emphasize on making some unique cars and they do it beautifully. For example, one of their other vehicle was a left hand drive Subaru BRZ (for a Japanese customer) which is really unique in the country.

rk1

Their demo car had their ND Front Bumper Canards which are the very first on the market. They painted the car in a sexy matte grey and their glossy black parts looked real nice out there!

rk2 rk3 rk4 rk5 rk6

They also had some ND Front Fender Ducts to help with the aerodynamics of the car and also give a very aggressive look. They were rocking their very own RK Design 17” Wheels with ND Rotora Big Brake Kit.

rk7 rk8

The car was also equipped with some ND Rear Brake Ducts & ND Rear Fender Ducts which were functional (see picture of ducting for brake cooling) and really cool looking. Again, a very unique item made by them.

rk9 rk10 rk11 rk12

If the exterior is unique, the interior was even more unique! They had the whole Carbing ND Bolt-In Cage recovered with Alcantara. The seats were Bride Low Max recovered in matching Alcantara, again. Same goes for their steering wheel!

rk13 rk14

The last exterior piece that was from their design was their ND Rear Spoiler. It’s the first time for me to see this kind of rear spoiler. It’s kind of cool looking and subtle!

rk15 rk16

Finally, they showed us their very neat ND Front Strut Tower Bar that’s made from very light machined aluminum. They also have other chassis bracing made from the same method, but we couldn’t see them as they were underneath the car.

Aimgain ND MX-5 Shop Car at TAS2016

Aimgain is a relatively new aerodynamics company from Japan. They are getting very popular due to their extreme designs that pushes the limits of the vehicles!

1

Their shop car had their ND Front Lip which is much wider than the vehicle’s OEM bumper.

2 3

To continue with the extreme look, they put some pretty cool ND Fender Flares as well as their Aimgain G2M 16” Wheels (16×9).

4 5 6 7

To complete the look, they installed a real aggressive ND Ducktail Spoiler as well as a ND Rear Diffuser and some really nice ND Dual Center Carbon Fiber Exhausts!

8 9 10 11 12

Finally, the car was rocking some beautiful and classy Edirb Leather & Fabric Racing Seats!

Esqueleto ND MX5 Shop Car at TAS2016

Esqueleto is top choice for Roadster enthusiasts when it comes to custom racing seats. They have proven their reputation by building awesome quality seats that can be 100% customized and many Japanese tuners will only run their seats as the build quality is next to perfect.

Their shop car was showing their ND Rear Spoiler Type-1 as well as their ND Rear Skirt with FRP/Carbon Fiber finish.

1 2 3

They had their ND Front Lip installed with a mix of FRP and Carbon Fiber that really does give a super aggressive look to the front of the car.

4 5

They also had their ND Side Skirts in the similar FRP/Carbon Fiber finish to give a nice aggressive & luxury look.

6

Since they are mainly making racing seats, they were running their latest released products : ND Type-7 Racing Seat (driver side) and ND Type-8 Racing Seat (passenger side)

7 8 9

The main difference between the Type-7 and Type-8 is that the Type-8 has a 4 degree difference in seating angle which is actually made for racing. When I sat in both, I really preferred the Type-8 for some reasons.

Now, this is really a neat feature; they integrated speakers into the racing seats (where the harnesses usually go) and these will allow the driver to keep the Bluetooth and infotainment functions that the OEM seats have!

Comparing ACRE Brake Pads for MX-5s

ACRE Brake Pads are used by many Japanese tuners and have a great reputation in Japan. Here’s a side-by-side of ACRE Brake Pads for all generations Miatas. Here are some explanations about the following graphics :

Initial bite : this is when you press the brake, is it aggressive (high) or relaxed (low).

Fade : this is the “endurance” of the brake pad when racing, great (high) or low endurance (low).

Wear : this is the durability of the brake pad, short (high) or long (low).

Control : this is the level of modulation you can do with the brake pad, a lot (high) or not much (low).

Disk life : this is how the brake pad will affect your disk life, not a lot (low) or a lot (high).

Dust : this is the level of brake dust that the brakes will produce, not a lot (low) or a lot (high).

As mentioned in the graphics, all of the bars are in comparison to stock brake pads (set at level 5).

There is also additional information such as Proper Rotor Temperature (so they are optimal), Coefficient of friction, Material & Stage (where they should be used).

Let’s compare all brake pads! The order below starts with their most racing to their most street brake pad.

ACRE Racing Pro Brake Pads:

Racing use brake pads from Acre Brakes. This pad is designed specifically for competition use only. Acre recommends this pad for short endurance events or track days.

ACRE N-Zero Brake Pads:
n-zero
Circuit use brake pad by Acre Brakes of Japan. Acre designed this pad specifically for N-Zero one-make races that are gaining popularity in Japan.

ACRE Formula 800C Brake Pads:
formula_800
This pad is designed to retain a high braking force through a wide temperature range and also not be terribly harsh on rotors.

ACRE Formula 700C Brake Pads:
formula_700
This pad is appropriately named 700C, for its ability to thrive at rotor temperatures around 700 degrees celsius. This pad is a circuit use pad that will also work on the street.

ACRE Dustless Brake Pads:
dustless_real
Acre’s customers asked for a pad that offered potent stopping power, but with little to no dust and no squeal. This pad is their answer to that request!

ACRE Light Sports Brake Pads:
light_sport
This pad is designed to offer the driver a high degree of control over the vehicle in all weather and road conditions, a great all around brake pad.

ACRE Super Fighter Brake Pads:
super_fighter
This brake pad was designed with the street user in mind. The super fighter is usable from the get go, without a warm up needed.

If you have any more question about the brake pads or need them for another application than the Mazda Miata, please don’t hesitate to contact us at info@rev9autosport.com!

TRUST (Rocket Bunny) ND MX-5 Demo Car at TAS2016

TRUST is a legendary shop that has been tuning many Japanese vehicles for a while. Since recent years, they are associated with TRA Kyoto (Rocket Bunny maker) and we all expected them to release a ND Demo Car. They did great, it is pretty sick looking and WIDE.

1

They were showing off their beautiful ND Wide Body Kit that is made by TRA Kyoto especially for the ND Roadster. It reuses many of the vehicle’s already aggressive panels, so only Fender Flares & Lips have been added. rocketbunny_nd_2 rocketbunny_nd_3 rocketbunny_nd_4

As you can see, the car is running SUPER wide Rays TE37v 17″ Wheels to obtain a real nice drift look! rocketbunny_nd_5 rocketbunny_nd_6

The car is also running a super tall and wide ND GT Wing that sure has its benefits when driving at high speed on the track! rocketbunny_nd_7

We don’t have much details on this build, but we know that there is a ND Turbo Kit under the hood and many custom modifications on it.

(If you look closely in below pictures, they replaced the Windshield Frame & Roll Bar Covers with semi-transparent ones that light in bright blue, pretty cool!). rocketbunny_nd_8 rocketbunny_nd_9

Autoexe ND Miata Demo Car at TAS2016

Autoexe has been tuning Mazda vehicles for decades. They did such a good job at doing it that they also are factory options offered at Japanese dealers (sold next to Mazdaspeed products). They just released their ND Demo Car and have been making A LOT of products for it, which is pretty great!

Their shop car had their ND Front Spoiler with DRL installed as well as their ND Front Lip to give a very nice and aggressive front end.

blog1

Their beautiful ND Rear Wing was also installed. It gives a really nice and different look to the silhouette as well as back of the car.

blog2 blog3

The car also had the ND Rear Diffuser and ND Double-Center Exit Exhaust that really give a neat look to the rear bumper of the Miata.

blog4 blog5

The interior of their fourth generation MX-5 was showing their ND Original Shift Knob as well as their ND Sports Steering Wheel!

blog6 blog7

Even though they didn’t show it to people at the show, they gave us a sneak peak of their engine bay. They had their new ND Plug Cover (only confirmed to work with 1.5L engines), ND Elbow Intake, ND Carbon Fiber Intake Chamber, ND Oil Filler Cap as well as their ND Front Strut Tower Bar!

Fujitsubo (KenStyle) ND MX-5 Demo Car at TAS2016

Fujitsubo is well known for their very high quality (and affordable) exhaust systems and manifolds/headers suited for most Japanese vehicles. For the ND (2016+) Miata development, they made a collaboration with Ken Style so that the first company makes the exhaust components and second company produces aerodynamics.

1Couldn’t take a good photo of the whole car because there were racks in front of it, but at least, I’ve got a cool shot of their promotional girl.

The first thing you notice is the (KenStyle) ND Front Lip that follows their very own design practices. It squares off the front of the ND, which is not a bad thing in itself. Makes it look bolder.

2 3

They also told us that the ND Rear Diffuser shown on their demo car is manufactured by KenStyle, but will be sold as a Fujitsubo kit for their oncoming (Fujitsubo) ND Quad-Tip Exhaust System. The exhaust system is not only a muffler system, but they also had mid-pipe and header made. Unfortunately, it was next to impossible to take it in picture, but we’ve got a nice shot of the tips!

4 5 6

The car was also rocking the newly released (KenStyle) ND D-Shape Steering Wheel that feels so nice to the touch. Since this article is based on an event in January 2016, we’ve already started selling the steering wheel and reviews are AWESOME. Everyone loves it and says it’s a totally different (better) driving experience.
